I didn't really start the day out thinking I would be so productive, but it worked out nice.
Sunday morning started out really early. Aydan woke up at 4:30. I gave him a small bottle and instead of going back to sleep, he decided to stay up. I let him cry in his crib from 5-6am. Which of course, woke up Charly. Charly came and laid with me on the couch. I tried to doze off...but you know how hard that is with a baby crying and a little girl asking you questions. Well, at 6am I gave in to Aydan and went and got him. We rocked for a little bit and I ended up giving him another bottle. He went back to bed after this. I laid down with Charly on the couch and let her watch toons. Because once she is up...she is up for the day. I would almost be asleep and she would have to tell me something about the toon. Or she had to get up and go to the bathroom. Or had some other question. I tell you, she has impeccable timing. I think it was around 7am, I told Mark it was his turn and I let him go in the living room with Charly and I crashed in the bed. I think Aydan woke up around this time too. I slept hard for the next two hours. Mark woke me up at 9am and he had bacon and pancakes cooking.
We invited Garry and Cindy over for pancakes. Mark had made a double batch. Mark had a little trouble eating the pancakes and soon after started throwing up. He was done for the day. Some sort of stomach bug was my best guess. He hadn't eaten anything that the rest of the family didn't eat, so not sure. I got the kids and myself ready for church, and Mark stayed home in bed.
Church was nice. Aydan is old enough to go to nursery now, so I can just sit and enjoy church, which is wonderful. Mark was still sleeping when we got home and he was still feeling quite ill. Aydan went down for a nap and Charly and I settled in on the couch. I did some Bob work and Charly watched her toons. I told her that she needed to take a nap...and since Mark was sleeping where Charly usually naps(I keep the kids separate for naps), I told her that she could sleep on the couch.
I got a little bit of work done, but it wasn't long before Aydan woke up. Well, now I was a bit stuck. Charly was sleeping in the living room and Mark was in our bedroom. So, I decided to just play with Aydan in his room so I wouldn't wake anyone up. That is when I started my cleaning binge. I have a tough time sitting still and after playing with Aydan for a while, I started thinking about turning Charly's bed around. I had the room torn apart and after I did all that, I decided to sort through their clothes, which led to organizing the closets. It did feel good to get all of that done, I was a bit overdue.
After a while, Charly and Mark were up and I could venture out to the living room again. The rest of the day is a blur...between cleaning up the living room, cleaning the kitchen, and getting the hall closet organized. When Aydan took another nap, I tried and got more Bob work done and also got the Jeep cleaned out. Those are things that are just easier when the little guy is sleeping.
So, I didn't really start out trying to be productive, but I just kept moving all day. Mark stayed in bed most of the day and around dinner time, he was able to eat a little peanut butter toast and some chicken noodle. By the time both kids were in bed, I was ready to veg in front of the tv. I caught the last half of "What's love got to do with it"...a Tina Turner story. That was really good. Then it was on episode of House after that and I was ready to hit the hay!
Let's go back a day. Saturday was not quite as productive. It was more of a "sloth" day. There was a nap involved and even though we wanted to go out and enjoy the beautiful day, we didn't leave the house until 2 or so. Working around naps and lunch and breakfast and showers...it just got to be late I suppose. But, we went to the Coloma area and went to the Antique store. We put Aydan in the stroller and let Charly walk around. She did really good. She would point out stuff...but did pretty good at "not touching".
Then we hit the Hardings. We got the remainder of my list bought. I found some pork loin on sale for 1.89 a pound...which always makes my day. I spent 40 bucks...and the other day i spent 140 at aldi. So, for a month of food...that is not a bad price. We will see if it actually lasts me a whole month. I went shopping on the 4th, so ask me how I am doing in the beginning of March. I am sure I will need to run to the store for milk and eggs...and probably a few other things. We will see.
Dinner was steak sandwiches and mac and cheese with mozzarella and feta. Oh, and peas. We relaxed for the evening and didn't do too much. It was a good relax day for me.
